Brutal Doom - Episode 1 - All Secrets

Hi everyone, and welcome to the first entry on Definitely Russian adventures. We are going to check every nook and cranny on the first episode of this timeless classic.

Doom, now called the grandfather of the FPS genre, was released on December 10, 1993 by id Software. To be fair the real grandfather of the first person shooters is Wolfenstein 3D, released by the same company. But the 2.5D engine on Doom changed everything forever. Texture mapped floors and roofs, rooms with different heights, full of gore, demonic enemies, lots of different weapons and the inclusion of the most needed minimap. All these features and more, made what is Doom today, one the best games ever created.

Brutal Doom is a modification meant to make the game even gorier. You can perform finishing moves on enemies, and viceversa. Monsters now have different hit areas, you can chunk a leg off and watch the suckers jump, or just blow their heads off with the shotgun. There are AI controlled allies that you need to rescue that will tag along with you, if you choose so, or just make them hold position. It also brings more balance to weapons, enemies and includes a whole new set of moves for your doomed marine and enemies. You can roll to dodge attacks, flip off nearby enemies in a form of crude taunt, or use the Duke Nukem legendary kick as a last resort.

I also used the Metal Music mod which updates all the classic midis to metal renditions of the same songs. Now it's easier to hear the resemblance between the original soundtrack and different metal bands while you destroy everything that moves.

If for some reason you never played Doom. This is a MUST play game,

Episode 1, Knee-Deep in the Dead, all 9 maps, every secret explained in detail including how to reach the secret level. Playing on Ultra-Violence skill.
